Im shocked there isnt a video by Andy on this already.... - was probably out buying winter vests? we call them tank tops up here mate.
HELTEC FILES FOR BANKRUPTCY or similar thumbnail?
Seriously though Meshtastic has pulled web flasher support for the Heltec 114 with the pretty colour screen and its a shame really, aside of the Bluetooth and dead pixel issues lots of people are talking about how its being said that it has a hardware issue that prevents full power or with long fast reliably.
Its not the end i think, and the firmware will still be available on github but not from the official web flasher - to me that's downgrading it as a priority especially when its seen to be a hardware fault.
For the many people that asked about us selling them on the store this makes it a hard no im afraid. In this case it wouldn't have passed our test procedure anyway.
Lets keep an eye on it - just as an fyi i have asked the question to our account manager what they will be doing about the situation for their customers - but the offical line so far is: The development board is not purely designed for meshtastic and is still in specification
Onto other things.
If your living in the are named West Freugh near Dumfries and Galloway then its kinda game over for meshtastic from 23rd September to the 4th October.
The Ministry of defence are doing some jamming testing for our frequency and a few others including GPS. Dont worry though its only till 5:30pm when they have their tea ( thats dinner to you southerners )
Interesting times indeed, the threat of losing these vital communications links is something we all need to consider.

The super solar super node base of operations
So the summer house, its been an adventure. The solar panels are up, the eco flow battery is in place and the PowerStream is all setup. And at last the super node is running alongside the Pi running Map the Mesh! its been a nightmare getting this all running... especially with firmware issues from 2.5xx and 2.4xx - our whole Blackpool fleet is on its was back to 2.3.15 as well it just works. The electrician is coming tomorrow to run power into the summer house. Again Alan has had a sh** load of patience working with me to make all this happen.
See the plan is this, the solar panels on the roof of the shed power the eco flow battery, the power stream then takes any excess and puts it into the house covering upto 800 watts. The amazing thing is about this is no real wiring as such, plug and play. The only reason for the electrician is to connect the shed up so i can feed into the house.. not vice versa. The solar panels alone could power the Pi, super node and the monitor no problem. If your looking for a cheap way into solar then this is it... video on all this hopefully at the weekend.
Next up is Map the Mesh at our base in Blackpool Airport.
