V3 My First Love

The Heltec V3
It's version 3 which means only natural that I am now in possession of 3 of these beauties.
Also I am the proud owner of both the Bender case which I use as one of my 'Home Nodes' and the Nibbler Case which I use for my 'Roaming node' - Both fantastic build quality cases, highly recommend.

The Heltec V3 unit itself, solid choice, gets the job done, easy to flash the firmware and maintain and a single 1860 battery will keep it going for most if not all of the day! The built in display is clear and has been commented on with people asking 'What's that cool matrix thing you've got there'.

The Heltec V3 has also got GPIO Pins on the board itself as well which means for those who like tinkering with electronics can add additional sensors, switches, dials and have things like local temperature / humidity / windspeed data transmitted over the mesh as well.

Can recommend!
